What is LASIK Surgery?
LASIK Surgery (Laser-Assisted in situ Keratomileusis) is a type of refractive laser eye surgery performed by ophthalmologists for correcting myopia (short sightedness), hyperopia (long sightedness), and astigmatism.
An alternative to wearing corrective eyeglasses or contact lenses, Lasik uses a laser to reshape the cornea of the eye so that it changes the focal point of the eye. The procedure takes around 15 minutes, is relatively pain-free and results are almost immediate.
